The New Netherland Institute’s Circle of Friends recognizes financial supporters during each twelve-month period from July 1st to June 30th. The Circle of Friends appears in the Fall edition of the newsletter De Nieu Nederlanse Marcurius, distributed to members, and online.

Contributions come from both individual and institutional supporters, including corporations, foundations and governmental organizations.

Contributions include membership dues, unrestricted donations to support the activities of the Institute and its support for the New Netherland Research and funds designated for specific projects or categories of activities such as education.

Donors are listed in the following categories.  Donations can also be designated as anonymous.

Patroon - $10,000+

Director General - $5,000+

Councilor - $3,000+

Vice-Director - $1,000+

Burgomaster - $500+

Magistrate - $100+

Burgher – under $100

In 2010, it partnered with the New York State Office of Cultural Education to establish the New Netherland Research Center, with matching funds from the State of the Netherlands.
