Voyages to New Netherland, showing West India Company and Other sponsored voyages side by side by arrival year. "Other" represents predominantly private merchant voyages and some City of Amsterdam voyages. Merchant voyages increased substantially after the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. The City of Amsterdam voyages focused mainly on their settlement at New Amstel, beginning in 1657.

Voyages from New Netherland to Curaçao over time suggest New Netherland provisioning Curaçao on average of once a year. The arid island struggled to maintain sufficient food stores for its inhabitants and was dependent on New Netherland to subsizide shipments from the Dutch Republic. Higher activity in 1647 and 1655 may reflect the presence of additional ships in the area coinciding with Director Stuyvesant's travel.

Tonnage observed (known to date) of ships voyaging to New Netherland.

Commodity export trends from New Netherland to Amsterdam by decade, showing exports of peltries and timber giving way to tobacco in the 1650s as the beaver population waned and tobacco plantations grew. Wheat exports in the 1660s originated in Rensselaerswyck.
