41ST ANNUAL CONFERENCE CALL FOR PAPERS

The New Netherland Institute (NNI) is now accepting presentation proposals for our 41st Annual Conference, which will convene in Albany, New York at the New York State Museum on the 22nd of September 2018. The program committee welcomes paper proposals on any aspect of the seventeenth-century Dutch colony. Proposals that highlight the legacy of New Netherland are also encouraged.

Papers will be selected based on their contributions to New Netherland scholarship as well as how they fit into an emerging theme. Please submit proposals of about 300 words and a one-page CV to nni@newnetherlandinstitute.org by April 15, 2018. All submissions will be acknowledged by email. If you do not receive an acknowledgement, please resubmit or contact Steve McErleane at Stephen.McErleane@nysed.gov.

For more than four decades, the New Netherland Institute—an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization—and its affiliates have helped shed light on the long-neglected history of the settlements that laid the foundation for much of today's mid-Atlantic region. NNI supports the New Netherland Research Center in partnership with the New York State Office of Cultural Education, the parent agency of the State Library and State Archives.

Funding will be available to partially cover accommodation costs for speakers who lack alternative funding sources. Additional travel funding may be available.
