In memory of our late president, the New Netherland Institute has established the R.J.Jippe Hiemstra Annual Conference Travel Fund to support the travel of a select group of students to our annual conference each fall. Jippe believed strongly in the importance of NNI's engagement with the next generation of New Netherland scholars. Donations to the fund established in his name will help those scholars engage with the latest scholarship on New Netherland and make lasting connections with others in the field of New Netherland studies. Please consider a donation today to remember Jippe and support the future of New Netherland scholarship.

What Was New Netherland?
An introduction to the people and places of Dutch North America
For over three decades, NNI has helped cast light on America's Dutch roots. In 2010, it partnered with the New York State Office of Cultural Education to establish the New Netherland Research Center, with matching funds from the State of the Netherlands. NNI is registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. More
Housed in the New York State Library, the NNRC offers students, educators, scholars and researchers a vast collection of early documents and reference works on America's Dutch era. More
Subscribe to NNI's e-Marcurius and DAGNN-L to receive information about New Netherland-related events, activities, conferences, and research.
